Postiz stands out because it's so AI-agent-friendly + connects to soooo many platforms. You're right about the open-source option being a good way to get attention too, because I'm one of those who first thought I'd take that route with Postiz and then went 'yeah, nah, it's just easier to subscribe'. Very glad I did. My agents love it and said to say hi ;)

Vibe coding isn't even the hardest thing to crack anymore and your new app is just the confirmation of it all.

Postiz and Bridgepost has value because It's well connected to all social media platforms. Getting all the APIs and managing changes to the platform is a nightmare of its own.

For everything else, that doesn't have a true business hurdle outside of code, they only moat is distribution.

So be cringe and embrase it cause that's the new moat!

@jackfriks i believe the way to adapt should be to build for ai agents, we dont need more of the "micro saas" that do basic things. there is massive demand for tools that actually helps the agents work bette. eg: postiz by @wickedguro is a scheduler but tailored to ai agents thats the move

@skumpuntele @yKhanPDF @heyandras the distinction isn’t “free.” it’s philosophy I think. Postiz is an excellent all-in-one social media platform (heavy); shoutrrr intentionally stays lightweight and focused. It was the most requested app as well from the coolify community, that says it all imo.

Postiz did not win by being another scheduler. It won by changing who it was for and what outcome it sold. That reframe is the entire playbook.

@anthonyriera @wickedguro Half agree: proven category, yes. But the difference has to be structural, not cosmetic. Postiz won on open source plus AI timing, not on nicer UI over the same scheduler. Copy the category, never the product.

We run our entire social presence through an API. Four channels, scheduled from scripts, zero dashboard clicking. Here is what that actually taught me.

The setup: Postiz (open source, MIT) as the scheduling layer. It exposes a REST API and an agent CLI, so drafting and scheduling happen in the same session where I write. No copy paste between tools, no reformatting per platform.

Three things I did not expect.

One: the failure mode nobody documents. Every URL we put into an X post silently vanished at publish time. No error, no warning, just gone. Turns out there is a server side flag that strips links from X posts because links suppress reach. Correct reasoning, invisible behaviour. Cost me two hours and one broken launch post before I found it in their docs.

Two: scheduling is not the bottleneck. Content supply is not either. The bottleneck is replies. Automating publishing while staying absent in the comments is worse than posting half as often and actually being there.

Three: the API makes bad ideas cheap to kill. Rewriting a week of posts is one script instead of forty clicks, which means I actually do it when the strategy is wrong, instead of defending the calendar I already built.

If you are a small team publishing across platforms, the automation is worth it. Just be honest about which part of the job it is doing. It moves the text. It does not have the conversation.

I thought what I would do is show people options that already exist but OpenSource and can replace existing subs that are either overpriced or for which there are good free options

@wickedguro The fact that Postiz is so welcoming to my AI agents is why I use it. Had started to code my own, just for my own clients, and got annoyed by the tedious application process for many platform connectors. Saw @oliverhenry showing what his agent does using Postiz, and was sold.
